My husband Atmaraam Jadyar works in a press near Sewri. We also have a daughter called Jyothsna and a son called Deepak. Our family is completely devoted to Bapu. Although, we are not well to do, we are very happy and content. We stay in a small room of 10 ft. X 12 ft. In the same room, we have a kitchen, a cupboard, a small table, a small cot and a ceiling fan. My daughter passed her 10th board exams successfully and entered junior college while my son is in the 8th standard.
Jyothsna has been drawn to Bapu right from her childhood. She chants Bapu’s name daily and writes 4 pages (2 in the morning and 2 in the evening) of the Ram Naam book every day.
This incident occurred nearly one had a half years ago. We finished our dinner after my husband came from work. I finished all my daily chores by 11 in the night. Meanwhile, all other members finished their diurnal prayers and we decided to go to sleep. My husband slept on the cot. I slept on the floor with my children on either side.
Prior to sleeping, Jyothsna wrote two pages of the Ram Naam notebook. She then prayed to Bapu, kept the book near her pillow and went to sleep. I switched off the lights and we all went to sleep. We could only hear the creaky ceiling fan twirling over our heads.
At around 2 am, I heard a loud, crashing sound. I held both my children close to myself. My husband managed to switch on the light and we were astonished to see what had happened. The ceiling fan had come crashing down. Jyothsna was sleeping right under the fan but its twirling motion had ensured that it fell away from her body. Our sleep was driven away and we just about came to terms with what had happened. I thanked Bapu profoundly in my mind.
Jyothsna was in a state of shock. I asked her if she was hurt and she replied in negative. Then she enquired about her Ram Naam book. The Ram Naam book was under the ceiling fan! One of the flaps of the fan had cut right across the facing cover of the book. We could not believe our eyes.
My daughter could not fight back her tears. She pulled the book from under the fan, held it close to her chest and started crying. She said, “My Bapu has got hurt. He was hit by the fan.” I tried to console her. But she said,” O Bapu, what have you done? You came rushing to my help without me calling for it!” Moreover, she started crying inconsolably.
My husband and I were simply stunned. If the fan was right over Jyothsna’s head, how did it miss her? If the Ram Naam book was under her pillow, how did it come out? How did Jyothsna escape unhurt? We did not have answers to any of these questions. The only answer was – Bapu!
“If you serve me, love me and have unflinching faith in me, then I will ensure that even a live bomb, kept by your side, will not explode.” My husband was reminded of these words of Bapu. We experienced Bapu’s unconditional love. It helped my children escape unscathed. Truly, Bapu You love us a lot. When will we start reciprocating that love?
