It was on 11th August at 9.30 in the morning my mother received a call saying that my brother, Pritam who is a marine engineer has met with an accident on the ship. No other information was given to her. It was natural that all possible doubts were coming to our mind, how big was the accident? Is he safe? Where could he be? We had no answers. We tried to check with his company’s Mumbai office but they too had no information about it. Suddenly there was an eerie silence at home.
On that very day my husband had gone to Mumbai for his office work and he met Suchit Dada and told him about the accident. Suchit Dada told him, “All of you start chanting Hanuman Chalisa. Everything will be fine.” Immediately my husband called us up at Pune and gave us the message and we all started chanting Hanuman Chalisa.
We had hardly chanted for 20-25 minutes and to our surprise we could talk to Pritam and understood what exactly had happened.
In this accident both his legs below the knees were burnt by steam. But by Bapu’s grace he was immediately taken by a helicopter and admitted to the best hospital in Belgium. The entire medical team there took good care of him. Even the people visiting him helped him and some of them looked after him so well as if they were very close to him.
The ever compassionate Sadguru Bapu’s grace was working even before he could contact us. Vaibhavsinh Karnik contacted a Bapu bhakta in Belgium. When she was told that he was admitted to the hospital and that he had no relatives with him she immediately drove for two hours to be with him in hospital. She took some cake, biscuits and most importantly took some ‘udi’ with her. She then called us and updated us on his condition and even told us not to worry.
Every alternate day she would go and meet him in hospital. To make him feel more at home she would take Indian food for him like dosa, ‘pohe’, ‘sheera’ and ‘upma’. She would spend time with him and also boosted his courage and confidence. She was in contact with us too.
After 40 days Pritam came home safely. Our loving compassionate Bapu takes care of his bhaktas even beyond the seven seas.
Here I am reminded of his promise,
“I shall never forsake you.”
