In December 2010, my husband and I had gone to Sydney to my daughter’s place. Before leaving, we went to Suchitdada for seeking his blessings. When we told Him about the journey, he said, "Don’t worry at all. Just enjoy". Really, after hearing these words of assurance of Dada our anxiety faded.
During our stay, on December 24, five of us including my daughter, her husband and our grand daughter, went to Gold Coast, a tourist destination, which is a one-hour journey from Sydney by air.
When we reached Gold Coast, the weather was rainy. From December 25, it started raining heavily followed with strong gusty winds. News channels were warning about flood-like situation.
On 27th, when we were supposed to leave Gold Coast, the skies were filled with dark and heavy rain clouds, heavy rains and stormy winds were lashing the city since morning. We witnessed a horrendous form of nature.
Our flight was scheduled to depart at 7.45 pm which would reach Sydney at 10.30 pm. According to the news channels, the weather in Sydney was also bad. We were continuously chanting Bapu’s name. Somehow we reached the airport at 3 pm.
As we reached there, my son-in-law inquired at the counter whether there was any other flight to Sydney before the 7.45 pm one. To our surprise, the attendant told him that there was one flight scheduled to depart at 3.45 pm and only five seats were available.
We cancelled our previous flight tickets and booked fresh tickets for the 3.45 pm flight. The cancellation procedure was completed hassle-free. Surprisingly, they did not even deduct any cancellation charges. This incident was a proof that Bapu is always with us.
We got the tickets, but they were announcing that due to bad weather not a single flight had either departed from or arrived at the airport since morning.
The question before us was, now what. But we knew that now only Bapu will save us from this. We started chanting his name. We started reciting gurukshetra mantra. As we were chanting, we realised that the rains, which were lashing the entire region, stopped by 3.30 pm. The skies were clearing and we could see sunlight. We were surprised to see that within 15-20 minutes the weather had changed so drastically. We were awe stricken.
Within 10 minutes, there was another surprising incident. The first flight of the day landed at the airport. Later we heard an announcement that the 3.45 pm would depart soon. This was the first flight of the day to depart from the airport, and we had its tickets.
At that moment, we were reminded of Dada’s words…”Just do not worry”. That Bapu saved our lives seven seas beyond, is a proof of this.
Bapu is our constant companion. We were experiencing the truth of these words. There was immense assurance in these words. He is far bigger than any problem. We realised that the gurumantra is great and that our Bapu is simply the greatest.
