We were a group of 13 headed for Mumbai from Jalgaon on January 8, 2011 in a Tempo Traveller. We had sought Samir Dada’s appointment for Jan 9 at noon and had planned to attend the Panchasheel prize distribution that evening.
We had also intended to seek darshan in Govidyapeetham, Gurukul (JuiNagar) and Sai Nivas during the Vardhaman Vrat. We decided to halt at Govidyapeetham at night.
Everyone had done the vratpushpa pathan and upasana before setting off for the journey. We were about 44 km from Jalgaon when Mrs. Sunita Tayade, one of the women travellers with us, started feeling sick. We asked the driver to park at the side as Mrs. Tayade wanted to throw up. Mrs. Tayade got out of the vehicle with a bottle of water in her hand.
The driver of the vehicle too got down, cast a glance at the rear tyres and came back and sat at the wheel. All of a sudden, the left rear tyre burst with a loud din tilting the vehicle to the left. We got down of the vehicle and were shocked to see that that tyre had almost a 10-inch split.
The driver was shocked! The tyre had burst for no apparent reason. He immediately called up the vehicle owner who sent across a tyre tube in another car.
Had the tyre blast when the vehicle was in motion...? We shuddered to think about it. We were on the highway racing at 90-100 km/hr. There were speeding vehicles from both sides of the roads.
The kind and loving grace of the Sadguru dawned upon us. It was He who knew about the impending danger and brought us all to a safe halt. It was He who knew what lay ahead of us and carefully steered his children to safety.
What else could this have been? A woman on this vehicle feels sick. We halt for a brief period. The woman gets out of the vehicle, gargles and feels better. And it is only then that that the tyre bursts! All this took place in a matter of minutes. We were saved purely because of the grace and love of our Sadguru!
We mentioned this to Samir Dada during our meeting with him. He confirmed that it was nothing but Bapu’s grace. He asked us all to chant Ashubhnashini stotra 24 times each.
Every time we recollect the incident, all we say is – Aniruddha Tujha Mi Kiti Runi Jhalo!
