Once a person bows at the lotus feet of one’s Sadguru by offering him the two coins of faith (Shraddha) and endurance (Saboori), the Sadguru goes all out for his bhakta. The impossible then becomes possible for that bhakta. It could be a job offer obtained on campus through the strict short-listing procedure right in the middle recession times and the slowdown of the job market and even in the middle of the chaos of reduction in force of an organization. There is but the one reason behind the happy happenings in our lives – Bapu's love and grace. 'Our Bapu is slowly and steadily doing everything to make things alright for us.”
In the year 2010, my daughter, Amruta graduated with a degree in Software Engineering majoring in Computer Science. At the time of her admission to the course, as a mother I was quite tentative about her engineering education keeping in mind, the intensity of curriculum. Since we parents and she had complete faith in Bapu, we knew that Bapu would take care of all of that for her. Needless to say, Bapu took care of it and her four years of engineering were smooth.
Amruta’s faith in Bapu was so intense that while leaving for college, she would carry Bapu’s picture with her. She would keep it in the storage space of her scooty and only then would she switch on the ignition. She always wore Bapu’s Tripurari Trivikram Locket in a chain. She wore this chain all the time.
Therefore, Bapu; in the form his photograph; would accompany Amruta every day. She would leave at 8.30 am after breakfast, attend her college and then her tuition. Bapu would bring back Amruta safe every day in the evening. We were confident that he helped her through her studies as well. With Bapu’s blessings, Amruta obtained more than 75% every semester of her engineering studies and for the last semester, she scored 76.5%.
In the year 2009, when Amruta was in her third year engineering, the entire global economy was deeply entrenched in recession. Therefore, it was quite uncertain to predict the success of the campus recruitment program. In fact, everyone expected IT companies not to show up on campus for recruitment. However in December 2009, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) decided to visit campus and since Amruta fulfilled all the eligibility criteria set by TCS, her name was sent to the organization as an eligible student. Thus, Amruta began her preparations for campus interviews in the month of November. However, due to global recession, everyone continued to be uncertain about the prospect of her getting placed in TCS.
After a fortnight, it was announced that TCS representatives were to visit campus on 13th of December. Amruta appeared for the written test for campus recruitment and informed us on the same day in the evening that she had passed. In gratitude we bowed in front of Bapu’s picture at home as he always took care of us.
The next stage of campus recruitment was to begin the next day i.e. December 14th 2009. However, it was 8 pm, and she was still waiting her turn for the interview. The interview panel was quite strict, so she heard and Amruta was quite tense about her interview. Her interview then was rescheduled to 9 am the next day. She returned late in the evening and sat working before her computer till 3 am.
The next day, on December 15th, she applied Udi on her forehead and left for college, as usual, along with Bapu in the form of his picture. She had informed us that there would be 3 different tests she would have to appear for as a part of recruitment process.
At the time of performing my daily Pooja in the morning, I prayed to Bapu and knew he would do whatever was appropriate and right for Amruta. I neither insisted she get the job nor wanted that Bapu intervene.
Since Amruta did not return home in the evening, my husband called her to check on her. She then informed him that she had cleared two rounds by then and was awaiting her third round. The third round was a personal interview and since it was the last step in the interview process, it was scheduled on the same day. She informed him that she would come home late in the night. We went for an evening stroll and while returning bought Amruta’s favorite chocolate for her.
By the time we returned, it was almost 8.30 in the evening. While offering the chocolate to Bapu, Amruta called to inform us that she was selected for TCS and she further said that she had received the offer letter as well.
Most importantly, she also said that the interview panel did not consist of those strict members from the previous day. That particular day’s team was quite good. On hearing that we were speechless! Who else can change things around other than our beloved Bapu!
On hearing about her selection, we just could not contain our joy. We stood before Bapu’s picture and told him that we were eternally grateful to him for giving Amruta an opportunity she was longing to obtain. Our eyes welled out as we communicated our feelings and thoughts to Bapu. We thanked him, Aai and Dada profusely over and over again.
Once one reposes complete faith in one’s Sadguru, he can make anything possible. We were 108% convinced about it after our experience with Amruta’s campus placements.
Tula dona paisa deta me satvar
Tu nau rupayancha deelasi haar
Ulati hee tujhi khoon me umagalo
Aniruddha tujha me kiti runi jhalo II
After reposing unconditional faith at the lotus feet of one’s sadguru, if one performs Seva and Bhakti, one’s sadguru garners interest in one’s mind about Navavidha Bhakti. He also fulfills all our wishes.
During her four years of engineering education, Amruta managed to write only 8 Ramnaam Books and could manage to stitch only 2 quilts. She also operated the Charkha whenever she got some time. If one were to look at it dispassionately, this service was negligible. However, the fact that she managed to do this, in spite of her hectic schedule, is something Bapu considered. With such negligible but heartfelt efforts, Bapu not only fulfilled her desire but also helped her achieve success.
Amruta later obtained the offer letter from TCS and she joined the organization in due course of time. Bapu, Aai and Dada, may every bhakta get a chance to perform seva and be at your lotus feet. I ask to be granted this blessing.
But then the fact of the matter is “Our Bapu is slowly and steadily making everything alright for us.”
