A glance over our life gone by and we realize that our life has been made beautiful thanks to the unconditional love of our Sadguru. There have been several instances when our Sadguru saved us. I too have been blessed with many but then this one that I am about to share makes me particularly emotional, tears well up in my eyes and I am filled with gratitude for my Sadguru.
Sadguru Bapu is based in Mumbai while I am in Dhule. I would have run into heavy losses because of my carelessness but my beloved Bapu saved me. It was from a third person that I came to know about the calamity that was going to befall me.
My nephew got married on May 24, 2006 in Dhule. I had carried with me, the jewellery to wear along with the sarees. The weather in Dhule in the month of May is extreme. Around the same time, my son fell ill and therefore I ended up travelling to Dhule all alone.
The wedding was to be held at Agrawal Hall in Dhule. The wedding hall was on the ground floor. My sister’s family and I were put up in the last room on the second floor of the hall which had guest rooms. This room had an adjoining terrace and a balcony.
The rooms did not have locks. Though we discussed it, none of us went ahead and bought locks. Later, as the wedding ceremonies proceeded, we forgot about the locks. It so happened that I realized that the gold jewellery that I had brought along did not match well with the silk saree that I was wearing and I ended up keeping all my gold jewellery in the jewellery pouch in the room. All ornaments put together I had atleast stacked away 12-13 tolas of gold in the pouch. It was purely my carelessness that I kept the pouch right on top of all my clothes and left the room in a hurry without even locking my bag.
During the wedding ceremony, suddenly there was a commotion. The youngsters in the family were beating up two strangers in one corner of the wedding hall. The two young men were pleading guilty and requesting them to not hand them over to the police We did not go and further investigate and instead went ahead to the dining hall.
After the ceremonies were over, I went to my room only to find all my relatives gathered around my bag. My sister looked at me and exclaimed, “We want a party. You’ve been lucky not to have had to cry all day!” I was aghast to find my bag wide open and the jewellery pouch staring proudly at me.
After the wedding rituals, my mother asked my sisters to go to the room and rest. It turned out that it was indeed Sadguru Bapu’s divine plan that made my mother ask my sisters to do so. On hearing some footsteps approaching the room, one of the young men came out of the room and started alerting this partner. My sisters showed great courage and timeliness and managed to trap the men in the room. Who was the one who gave them such courage and quick thinking? It was my Bapu!
Since my bag was right in the front, the two men had opened it but had not yet found the jewellery pouch. Had my sisters been even a minute or two late, they thieves would have grabbed it. What if my mother had not asked my sisters to go the room at all?
But my Bapu aptly took the situation in his hands and turned the wheels. In fact it was me to blame. I had left my ailing son home and come alone for the wedding. Instead of carrying modest jewellery with me, I carried all the stuff I had, only to be able to flaunt it. Inspite of knowing that I had valuables with me, I did not take good care of the bag and left it unattended carelessly. Yet Bapu took care of me and my valuables purely because of his unconditional love.
We make mistakes, remain careless, get lured into vices and when the situation goes out of control run to Bapu for help. Yet Bapu bails us out of every situation.
Had I lost my jewellery not only would it be a great financial loss, I would have had to bear taunts of ‘me being careless and losing my jewellery at a maternal side wedding’ all of my life. Bapu saved me from that disgrace. How will I ever repay this debt?
